Blog #4 Tendencies between Men and Women
Men and women have different tendencies, they each act differently. Men are ore on the rough side and tend to forget things more than women. Which I will explain both of these throughout this blog. I watched a video where they had kids who were in maybe second grade. They gave the kids a different variety of toys to play with. The boys always took the more rougher toys such as: toy soldiers, nerf guns, legos, etc. Then the girls would always take toys like: barbie dolls and makeup. After picking the toys the people doing this experiment would ask them what they would do with the toys they picked. Every time the boys would say they want to throw it at the girls or hit the girls with the toys. They wanted to rough house with everyone and be physical. Where on the other hand when the girls were asked this question they would say they just wanted to talk to each other and play with their dolls. The girls just wanted to play nicely and not be so rough with each other like the boys had said.
Women are more gentle, they are the care takers of the family. Men can be like that too for sure but the stereotype is that is more natural for women to be the care takers and be more calm than the men. Women are also more likely to remember details and things going on more. In my family that was for sure my mom, she knew where everything was and remembered what was going on. Where my dad was clueless a lot and didn't know where a lot of things where in the house. In another video they did an experiment where they had both men and women in a room by themselves and the room was full of a bunch of different objects. They were left in the room for about 15 minutes, and these people thought they were waiting to do an experiment but the experiment was to see how much of what was in that room they could remember. The results of this experiment were crazy, the women could pretty much say everything that was in that room and where it was placed. Then the men, not so much, could not remember much. They only remembered a few things from the room and even that they were hazy on. It was very interesting to see the difference in what men and women could remember only after a short amount of time.
Something else I watched that was also interesting was again another experiment where teachers would blind fold the men and women. Then they would start them at one end of the school and have them walk to another part of the school. The teacher was only there to make sure they didn't run into anything. When they were done they had to tell them where they were going, what turns did they make along the way. Now in the last experiment I talked about the women were so much better at remembering things than the men. But in this experiment the men were so much better at remembering which way they went, how many turns they took, how long it took them to get from start to finish. In this case men have a way better sense of direction than women for sure.
An example going along with men having a better sense of direction is my dad. We would go to California once a summer many years ago. Driving to California, especially California, it is very tricky with lots and lots of exits and turns and freeways. My dad could do that drive blindfolded only after having to use maps one time. That one time is enough for men though to understand where they are going. On the other hand my mom would have no clue how to get there without maps. Even though she has been many times she couldn't do it. She could get to places that are closer off of memory but when you compare the two my dad is better at directions. Women are better at remembering land marks they pass by and they know they are on the right path. But even when they are lost the women will always want to ask for directions but the man will refuse and try to figure it out on his own. Men are definitely more stubborn than women are. I could keep going about the differences between men and women but that would be really long. It was very interesting to learn more about the tendencies between men and women.
